Finding My Purpose in Home Interior Design: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Creativity

The quote above is sometimes taken as criticism, but when the quote is considered in its entirety…..it can take on an entirely different meaning. For example, a person who has learned many different skills has that much more of an opportunity to share their various experiences to help others.
I have many years of experience doing numerous jobs and feel I have become extremely knowledgeable about a multitude of topics.
Just living life and solving daily problems presents the opportunity for some people to open their minds to learning so many different trades…which in turn can be an asset to younger, less experienced people who aren’t as far along in their journey.
As a result, I want to share with you all about my life and experiences that have led me to the realization that writing a blog about all things Home will not only satisfy my craving to create…. but in the process, I hope to support those of you out there who are still wandering through your life not realizing what you want or need in your journey to happiness or contentment.
I have always (well as far back as I can remember) struggled with having enough confidence to take the leap and figure out what would or could make me content. I have had multiple ideas and have gone down those paths, but to no avail, have not continued the path because something just felt off for some reason or another.
My experiences in life have been very diverse, as I have held quite a few different jobs. I have earned a master’s degree, gotten married, had two boys, and am now running two businesses and have a part-time job on the side.
I feel as though my daily life is just a means to an end to get to the next day off so I can enjoy doing something for myself that I truly enjoy.
So…after many years of craving a creative outlet….I have decided to write a blog to help others with everyday home topics, such as easy recipes, DIY renovations, interior design/decor, and possibly sprinkle in a little home organization on the side.
I realized that I had found my calling, my creative outlet, my avenue for self-expression and fulfillment. Home interior design has become more than just a hobby or interest—it has become a passion, a source of joy and inspiration that awakened new life into my soul.
Through the art of home interior design, I found a way to channel my creativity, to express myself in a tangible and meaningful way. I discovered the power of color, texture, and form to induce emotion, generate atmosphere, and transform average spaces into extraordinary havens.
With each project, I found myself delving deeper into the world of design, exploring different styles, techniques, and trends. I have immersed myself in the study of architecture, art history, and interior decorating, excited to increase my knowledge and improve my proficiency.
My husband and I have done countless home and commercial renovations throughout the last 20 years of multiple home and commercial business ownership. So, in sharing our many years of experience, we hope to offer our help to you, who may not have as much experience doing all the things.
I want to be of assistance to people to help reach their home and organization goals with some guidance through my experience with the diverse topics I have dabbled in from wearing all these hats for so long….I have to say I have gotten good at cooking, baking, cleaning, planning, designing, parenting, and organizing over the years.
I am happily a wife and mother first…but I am also a business owner and employee. So, I am constantly feeling the pressures of reaching deadlines, paying bills, planning meals, doing laundry, and dishes, and tracking finances.
I know what you’re thinking…..but that’s just a normal part of life. Yes, it is but it doesn’t have to be all that life is composed of.
Life should be enjoyable and relaxing at times, not just the day in day out repetitive cycle of work and everything else that must be done. There should be those special times in between we look forward to also.
